WSE Executive Chair, Dr Tom Denniss has been invited by the CSIRO to be part of a new working group to strengthen Australia’s role in the International Energy Agency’s Ocean Energy Systems: the OES Australia Working Group. Tom has accepted this invitation, with the first meeting taking place in October and then approximately each quarter after that.
The CSIRO and the Australian Ocean energy group, as the Australian delegates to the OES, have formed this new working group with the aim of strengthening Australia’s voice and influence within the OES, proactively contributing Australia’s knowledge and expertise into OES projects, and transferring global knowledge and expertise to Australia to accelerate development of its ocean energy sector.
Participation in this working group will provide WSE with access to international collaboration and potential business networks, early access to the most recent outcomes of research on ocean energy technical issues, and an opportunity to influence the direction of growth of the global ocean energy sector.
